Force Main Project

The City of Valdosta has hired Garney Construction for the construction of a 6.2 mile force main, a series of new pump stations, a new headworks structure and a 6 million gallon flow equalization basin. The new force main will replace the existing 54 inch gravity sewer main that runs along the Withlacoochee River and expected to resolve the overwhelming majority of the sanitary sewer overflows.

This project is being funded by a low-interest Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) loan and will take approximately 18 months to complete.
