Central Maintenance Division
Randy Jones, Central Maintenance Superintendent
The Central Maintenance Division provides specialized scheduled maintenance and repairs to lift station, pumps, generators, treatment plants, and associated mechanical and electrical equipment as well as control systems for optimal operations. Continual preventive and predictive maintenance is achieved through the use of a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) which ensures proper operation and early detection of any problems. With the CMMS database of information, Central Maintenance is able to consistently perform preventive and predictive maintenance on schedule to maximize reliability and meet all regulatory requirements and expectations.
Central Maintenance utilizes a new state of the art Supervisor Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) for remote lift station and plant monitoring and control. This system is based on the proven and reliable VTScada architecture, communicating 24/7 via cellular modems. We can detect problems before they become major issues and accumulate pump station and plant equipment performance data. We routinely exceed our 90% goal of preventive maintenance versus corrective maintenance goals with data from both CMMS and SCADA.
Central Maintenance operates and maintains 34 wastewater lift stations throughout the City's service area. These stations collect and pump wastewater through the collection system to the Mud Creek and Withlacoochee Wastewater Treatment Plants for treatment and disposal. The division also performs all maintenance and reliability functions for the two wastewater treatment plants and the water treatment plant.
