City Offices to Close Wednesday, June 19, in Observance of Juneteenth

The City of Valdosta administrative offices and facilities will be closed Wednesday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth. Emergency services will remain open.  

Sanitation services will be affected by the holiday closure. Residents can expect the following changes to their schedule: 

The Valdosta Public Works Department Sanitation Division will only collect garbage (green roll-out cans) on Wednesday, June 19th. Bulk items and yard trash will not be collected on Juneteenth. Regular bulk and yard trash pick-up services will resume on the following business day, Thursday, June 20. 

Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly and ensure that any bulk items or yard trash are set out for collection starting Thursday.
