Battle of the Badges Community Blood Drive

The Valdosta Fire Department and the Valdosta Police Department are gearing up for an exciting event that goes beyond the call of duty. They are teaming up with the LifeSouth Community Blood Centers for their Annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive, where these two esteemed departments will compete to see who can rally the most units of blood donated. The community is invited to participate on July 17, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the City Hall Annex Multi-purpose Room.

The Battle of the Badges Community Blood Drive promises an afternoon of camaraderie, community spirit, and life-saving contributions. Residents of Valdosta are encouraged to show their support for their favorite local heroes by giving blood for either Team Police or Team Fire.

"This event is a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together and support a worthy cause," said Police Chief Manahan. "The Battle of the Badges not only showcases the dedication and teamwork of our first responders but also highlights the generosity and compassion of our community members."

“We're thrilled to be partnering with LifeSouth for this important event," said Fire Chief Boutwell. "The spirit of competition adds an exciting element, but what truly matters is the opportunity to save lives through blood donation. We encourage everyone to join us and make a difference."

The Battle of the Badges Community Blood Drive isn't just about friendly competition; it's about making a tangible difference in the lives of those in need. LifeSouth is the sole supplier of blood products to South Georgia Medical Center and has been serving the Valdosta community for over five years.
