VFD Responds to Structure Fire on Ponderosa Drive
On Tuesday, May 7, at 3:08 P.M., the Valdosta Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire at 1326 Ponderosa Drive. The first fire unit arrived within 3 minutes to find light smoke coming from the duplex unit. One resident was treated and released for smoke inhalation. All occupants were able to evacuate prior to the fire department's arrival.
The cause of the fire is unattended cooking. The Valdosta Police Department and South Georgia Medical Center provided valuable assistance during on-scene operations.
