Martin Receives GAWP DeJarnette Award
Stanley Keith Martin, a 24-year-veteran of the City of Valdosta, was awarded the N. M. DeJarnette Award by the Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP) President Bill Zieburtz at the organization's annual conference in Savannah, in June.
The award recognizes excellence in operating a water or wastewater facility, training other operators, and advancing the operations field.
Martin is the Superintendent for Valdosta's Mud Creek Water Pollution Control Plant, which provides wastewater services to one-third of the city's utilities customers. He holds a Class 1 Wastewater Operator License, a Class 1 Water Operator License and a Water Lab Analyst License. Martin also serves as the GAWP District Director for District 7.
"The city is proud of Keith's accomplishment and for being recognized by his peers as the best in his field," said City Manager Larry Hanson. "His dedicated service spanning more than two decades and his knowledge and experience make him an asset to our city and community."
