Mayor’s Paddle on the Withlacoochee River Rescheduled to Feb 27 due to Inclement Weather
Out of an abundance of caution, all event organizers have agreed to postpone the Mayor’s Paddle due to predicted thunderstorms on Saturday, February 6. This kind of weather can create waters that are difficult to maneuver for both experienced and inexperienced paddlers. The event has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 27.
“This paddle is such a great partnership and fundraiser for WWALS. I am looking forward to a successful event on the rescheduled date, February 27,” said Valdosta Mayor Scott James Matheson. “In the past year we have made huge improvements to our sewer system infrastructure showing our commitment to preventing any issues that may impact our Withlacoochee River. I invite everyone to come out to the event later this month and join us for a day of fellowship on the river!”
The location and other details have not changed for this event, it will be run as originally planned. Event information can be reviewed below. We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any inconveniences.
