March 17 Update on Valdosta’s Response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
The City of Valdosta will be making some operational adjustments for the next several weeks to safely serve our community and ensure the health and welfare of our citizens, customers and employees. As such, City Hall, City Hall Annex, Public Safety and our Utilities/Public Works offices will have limited access through at least Friday, March 27, 2020. During this time, customers are encouraged to work with staff by phone, email and of course utilizing the City's website.
Customers may reach the Utility Department by calling 229-259-3592. New utility service can be started online here. Applications to discontinue services can be started online here. Customers may pay their utility bills online, pay by phone, or utilize the drive up drop box in the parking lot across from City Hall. The City will not disconnect services due to the COVID19 Pandemic. The lobby of the Customer Service Department will remain open but we ask citizens to limit face to face interactions to matters that cannot be resolved over the phone or through email/website.
The Municipal Court office will be closed to the public for the next 30 days. Court staff will continue to be available by phone at 229-293-3171 and citations may be paid online here. Court dates for March are being reset for a future date. Municipal Court staff will be in communication with any individual whose case is impacted by this closure.
For emergencies or to file a police report, please contact 911. For all other items, please call the Police Department at 229-242-2606.
For all other services, please reach out to the main City Hall number at 229-259-3500 or utilize our website valdostacity.com.
