Small Emerging Business Program
What We Do
The Valdosta Small Emerging Business (VSEB) Program works to equip local small businesses with the necessary tools to effectively compete for government contracts; and to eliminate barriers and build capacity for local small businesses to conduct business with the City of Valdosta. The department coordinates and implements various small business programs to provide business opportunities and technical assistance to aid these firms in their growth and contribution to South Georgia's economy. View the program ordinance.
How We Do It
If your business provides a product or service that the City purchases, the City of Valdosta would like the opportunity to do business with you. The VSEB Program works to find local small businesses that offer these products and services. After going through an application process, your business will be added to a targeted vendor directory that will create invaluable opportunities for growth. Here are some of the benefits of participating in the VSEB Program:
- Being listed on a targeted vendor directory
- Regular correspondence on local bidding opportunities
- Continuing Education
- Networking Opportunities
Who Can Participate?
There are four key industry categories on which the VSEB Program focuses:
- Construction/Capital Improvement
- Professional Services
- Contractual Services
- Commodities
If your business provides products or services in any of these categories, you may qualify as a VSEB.
