North Patterson Street Pedestrian Streetscape

On Wednesday, February 6, Blount and Sons Concrete Finishing and the City of Valdosta will begin sidewalk and landscaping on North Patterson Street between Magnolia Street and Gordon Street. Upon completion, there will be new sidewalks on each side of the street and also shrubs, trees, benches and waste receptacles.

“Patterson has been identified as one of the welcoming corridors into the city and this is going to be a pedestrian friendly connection between downtown and the college campus,” says Project Manager Kevin Tolliver. 

Work is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. every day, weather permitting, and is expected to be completed in June. A portion of this work is going to be state-funded. 

There will be lane shifts on Patterson during the construction phase from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Traffic flagmen and traffic control devices will be in place. Motorists are asked to please use caution and follow all traffic and safety rules while in the area.
