Strategic Initiatives Summit
Strategic Planning
The Strategic Initiatives Summit (SIS), formerly called the Mayor/Council Retreat, is an annual strategic planning event in which the mayor and city council members set aside two days to discuss city issues and goals at length. At the end of the two-day planning session, the mayor, and council compile their list of goals for the upcoming fiscal year.
SIS Agenda
An extensive amount of work goes into SIS planning. Months before the SIS is held, the mayor and council members produce their own lists of topics to discuss. These topics are then researched by city staff to be included on the agenda, which is provided to the mayor and council two weeks prior to the SIS. Click here to view the Fiscal Year 2024 SIS Agenda.
