Valdosta Public Works Resumes Mulch Service on March 3

The City of Valdosta Public Works Department is resuming mulch services at the Mulch Yard, located at 3365 Val Tech Road, starting Monday, March 3. 

The mulch service will be self-service with a drive-up option, and residents are reminded to bring their own materials. These services are free of charge. 

Residents can pick up mulch during operating hours from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 

“We appreciate the patience of our residents during the closure,” said Public Works Director Larry Ogden. “The Mulch Yard is now open, and we encourage everyone to utilize this service as needed. Our team is committed to providing efficient and reliable service to our community.” 

Safety Tips for Mulch Pickup: 

  • Bring your own containers or tarps to transport mulch. 
  • Wear gloves and protective clothing to avoid injury from sharp materials. 
  • Drive safely when entering and exiting the Mulch Yard, following posted signs and directions. 
  • Be cautious around machinery and avoid standing near moving equipment. 
  • Limit load sizes to ensure safe and secure transport.
