Valdosta Main Street hosts Songwriter Showcase, Aug. 17
On Saturday, August 17, Valdosta Main Street is hosting the Songwriter Showcase featuring Nashville, Tennessee artists Tony Arata and Chuck Jones. The songwriter showcase will take place at the Dosta Playhouse in Downtown Valdosta.
Singer & songwriter Tony Arata grew up in Savannah, Georgia and attended Georgia Southern University. He is best known for writing the #1 U.S. country hit “The Dance” by Garth Brooks, and another #1 hit “Dreaming with My Eyes Open” by Clay Walker.
Chuck Jones has also had multiple #1 hits with Diamond Rio’s “Love a Little Stronger” and Billy Dean’s “It’s What I Do”. Throughout the years, he has worked with many established artists, such as Reba McIntire, Montgomery Gentry, Patti Labelle and Ronnie Milsap.
Doors will open at 7:00 p.m., and the show starts at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are available on the Valdosta Main Street website, Facebook page and at the Valdosta Main Street office located at 300 N. Lee Street. General admission tickets will be sold for $20. With less than 200 total seats available, it is recommended that you purchase your tickets in advance. A cash bar will also be provided by Covington’s Dining & Catering.
