Road Closure at Intersection of North Forrest Street and East Gordon

On Tuesday, May 1, 2018 the City of Valdosta will be replacing the fire hydrant located at North Forrest Street and East Gordon Street. An additional water valve will be replaced on Myon Street.

Crews will begin work at 9:00 a.m. with prep work at the intersection of North Forrest Street and East Gordon Street for installation of a new fire hydrant and water valve. This work will require the road to be closed on North Forrest Street and East Gordon Street to Myon Street. Due to the nature of this work, residents in this area may see a drop in water pressure and possible water service interruptions for a period of approximately six to eight hours. This work is scheduled to be completed the same day, weather permitting.

Traffic control devices will be in place to inform motorists about the direction of travel when approaching the work zone during the repair. As always, motorists are urged to drive with caution and follow the traffic control devices set in place.
