City of Valdosta Recognizes Professional Municipal Clerks Week: Honoring Teresa Bolden and Bryan Tillman
The City of Valdosta proudly acknowledges and celebrates the 55th Annual Professional Municipal Clerks Week, observed from May 5 to May 11, 2024. This week holds profound significance as we honor the invaluable contributions of municipal clerks worldwide, including our esteemed team members, Teresa Bolden, City Clerk, and Bryan Tillman, Associate City Clerk.
Established in 1969 by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC), Professional Municipal Clerks Week has not only gained widespread recognition across the United States, Canada, and 15 other countries, but also serves as a global moment of appreciation and reflection on the pivotal role played by municipal clerks in ensuring the smooth functioning of local governance.
In recognition of their unique contributions and dedication, the City of Valdosta proudly highlights the exemplary service of Teresa Bolden and Bryan Tillman. Teresa Bolden, with over two decades of experience in municipal government, has been a beacon of excellence since joining in 2002. Her achievements, such as attaining the Georgia Certified Municipal Clerk Certification and the Certified Municipal Clerk designation from the IIMC, underscore her commitment to professional development and proficiency in her role.
As the Associate City Clerk, Bryan Tillman contributes his expertise in various facets of municipal operations, from ordinances and resolutions to open records. With a background encompassing both public and private sectors, Bryan seamlessly integrates his skills to address the diverse needs of Valdosta citizens and the community. His prior roles, including Assistant to the Vice President and Executive Directors at RaceTrac and positions at the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce, reflect his versatility and dedication to community service.
