City of Valdosta Extends Emergency Curfew Until Further Notice in Response to Hurricane Helene

🚨 Emergency Curfew Update & Clarification 🚨

In an effort to protect our community, and essential workers as well as deter criminal activity, an Emergency Curfew was issued after #Helene. The curfew is now in effect daily from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

There are a few exceptions to this curfew:
✅Traveling to/from work
✅Medical necessity
✅Obtaining essential supplies

Important Notes:
💙Restaurants and businesses can remain open, but please plan ahead to ensure you’re off the roads by 8:00 PM.
💙If you must be out after dark, please use extreme caution—many roads remain impassable.
💙Traveling to restaurants, PODs (Points of Distribution), and shower, food and meal sites is considered essential.

âš¡ Power Restoration Update: Our power companies are making great progress, but over 70% of the city is still without power. The curfew is crucial in ensuring the safety of everyone during this time.
Thank you, Valdosta, for your continued cooperation and understanding. Let’s keep each other safe!
