Educational Outreach

The Municipal Court is involved with the youth in the community through the Drug Education for Youth (DEFY) program, the Lowndes Youth Leadership League, Georgia Special Olympics, Valdosta High School Students Mentorship in Leadership Education (SMILE), local career days, and a variety of other special events.

Additionally, the Court hosts a Mock Trial Program where area schools are invited to attend court and witness a mock trial. Students, through the Mock Trial Program, are able to learn about the court system, the functions of the court, the administration of justice and the trial process.
