City of Valdosta Announces Final Pick-Up for Root Balls Following Storm Cleanup
The City of Valdosta’s Debris Removal Contractor will conduct a final collection of root balls as part of ongoing storm cleanup efforts. Root balls with 50% or more of the root mass exposed will be removed and backfilled by the contractor, while those with 50% or less will be flush-cut to ground level.
“Our contractor has been working diligently to clear debris and restore normal conditions for our residents,” said Public Works Director Larry Ogden. “This final pick-up will ensure that the remaining root balls are properly managed to maintain safety and aesthetic standards in our community.”
With this final collection, residents do not need to take any action. The contractor will survey the City’s rights-of-way, locate, mark, and remove the root balls.
“Our team remains committed to serving the residents of Valdosta by ensuring the proper removal and disposal of storm debris,” said Public Works Director Larry Ogden. “This final round of root ball collection will help complete the cleanup efforts and allow our city to move forward with recovery and restoration.”
