VPD holds Annual Cross Guard/Parking Enforcement Banquet
On May 21, 2021, VPD held it's Annual Crossing Guard/Parking Enforcement Banquet at Greenleaf Behavioral Health Hospital. The staff at Greenleaf provided breakfast for all of our employees. VCS Superintendent Dr. Cason and Councilwoman Miller-Cody attended and also helped recognize Crossing Guards who do an incredible job not only protecting our children every day as they go and come from school but stories were told on how they also are part of the children’s lives.Bettie Jackson was named crossing guard of the year, you can see her during the school year at Gordon and Lamar Street.
Marline Hayes was named parking enforcer of the year.
Linda White (parking enforcement and crossing guard at S. Fry at Hudson Dockett) was recognized for 10 years of service.
Marline Hayes, Deborah Sims (Patterson and Burton), and Pat Knipper (Arlington Dr) were recognized for 15 years of service.
Patricia Coleman (S. Fry and Lake Park Rd) was recognized for 40 years of service as a crossing guard in our community.
