VPD Honors Crossing Guards and Parking Enforcers
The Valdosta Police Department is proud to announce the annual recognition of our dedicated Crossing Guards and Parking Enforcers. Each year, GreenLeaf Behavioral Health Hospital hosts a breakfast to honor these unsung heroes, where Chief Manahan has the privilege of naming the Crossing Guard and Parking Enforcer of the Year.
This Year, VPD is delighted to celebrate the exceptional service of two outstanding individuals:
Lavern Riley has been named Crossing Guard of the Year for her unwavering commitment to the safety of our children and community members. Her dedication and friendly demeanor have significantly improved the safety of pedestrians near our schools and busy intersections.
Linda White has been named Parking Enforcer of the Year for her diligent work maintaining orderly and safe parking within Downtown Valdosta Main Street and Valdosta State University. Linda’s professionalism and attention to detail have been instrumental in ensuring compliance with parking regulations.
Chief Manahan expressed her gratitude, stating, “The dedication shown by Lavern and Linda exemplifies the core values of the Valdosta Police Department. Their hard work and commitment to our community’s safety are truly commendable.”
We extend our heartfelt thanks to GreenLeaf Behavioral Health Hospital for their continued support and recognition of these vital community members. The annual breakfast serves as a reminder of the importance of their roles and the impact they have on our daily lives.
