Residents Urged to Separate Trash and Yard Debris

In an effort to streamline waste management processes and maintain a clean and safe environment, the residents of the City Valdosta are urged to adhere to the following guidelines for the disposal of yard debris, tree limbs, furniture, and trash.

"I strongly urge our residents to actively participate in the proper disposal of yard debris, tree limbs, furniture, and trash. Separating these materials not only contributes to more efficient waste management but also helps in maintaining the safety and aesthetics of our community. Residents hiring private contractors should ensure responsible waste removal. Let's work together to keep Valdosta clean and beautiful," stated Public Works Administrator Larry Ogden.

Separate Yard Debris and Tree Limbs:

Residents are kindly requested to separate yard debris and tree limbs from other waste materials. This separation ensures more efficient disposal and recycling processes.

Proper Placement of Trash:

Trash should be placed in the designated right-of-way, ensuring a safe distance from fire hydrants, power boxes, water meters, or any other structures that may be susceptible to damage.

Avoid Mixing Debris with Trash:

To facilitate the recycling process, residents are encouraged to refrain from placing debris with regular household trash. Separate disposal helps in efficient waste management.

Responsibilities of Private Contractors:

Residents employing private contractors for tree removal or debris clearing are responsible for ensuring that these contractors remove the waste from the property. This proactive measure contributes to the overall cleanliness of the community.

Special Pick-up for Furniture:

For the disposal of furniture, residents are required to schedule a special pick-up by contacting City of Valdosta services. This ensures the proper removal and disposal of larger items.

These guidelines have been established to promote a cleaner and safer living environment for all residents of the city of Valdosta. Cooperation in following these instructions is essential to maintaining the aesthetics and functionality of our community.
