VPD Graduates 10 from Citizens Police Academy
Congratulations to the 10 Valdosta citizens who, after eight weeks of behind-the-scenes training with the Valdosta Police Department (VPD), graduated from the 22nd Citizens Police Academy on Nov. 12. Chief of Police Brian Childress presented each graduate with a certificate and a department coin. The program, which is offered in the spring and the fall, is designed to educate citizens and the business community about the services provided by the VPD and to establish a community partnership. The next CPA will start in March 2016. Interested citizens should contact Officer Vernotis Williams at (229) 292-7785.
